MSA- Multicultural Center Reservations

MSA- Multicultural Center Reservations

This form serves as the formal process to request the conference room in the Multicultural Center (MCC). MSA recognizes space is an important resource in supporting marginalized communities. Therefore we prioritize reservation request that align with our mission and the many communities we serve. Requests to reserve a space must be submitted at least two weeks in advance. This form does not serve as the official room requests reservation. All requests are subject to review.

The inception of the MCC began in 1998 with recommendations made in the Second Report from the Task Force on Underrepresented Minorities. That same year, Hispanic/Latino students began calling for space on campus. In February 1998, the Associated Student Government unanimously passed the “Where’s the Casa?” bill which called on the administration to create a multicultural center. In 2000, 1936 Sheridan officially became the Multicultural Center, and was established to serve as a space for multiple cultural identities and organizations.

In order to honor the legacy of the Multicultural Center, MSA prioritizes events and student groups that center the marginalized communities and cultures supported in the MCC. Please be mindful of the legacy when submitting your request. MSA staff will respond to your request within 48 business hours. Please contact msa@northwestern.edu with any questions.
