PUBLIC VOICES THOUGHT LEADERSHIP PROGRAMS: Application for 3 Month Summer 2020 Program and for 1 Day Chicago Session

PUBLIC VOICES: 3 MONTH PROGRAM SUMMER 2020

Program Details:
• Three month intensive program
• Cohort of 20 scholars, comprised of full‐time faculty across all disciplines
• Monthly in‐person 1 or 2 day seminars around thought leadership (Evanston and/or Chicago campus, TBD)
• Weekly/regular dedicated coaching and editing from top journalists
• Ongoing mentoring (3 month follow‐up with the Mentor‐Editor team)

Requirements:
1. If you are accepted into the program, you MUST be able to attend all three monthly seminars. Attendance is mandatory, as this is an intensive summer program. There are NO exceptions. The program meeting dates are as follows:
• Thursday, June 25 (9am‐4pm) and Friday, June 26, 2020 (9am‐2pm)
• Friday, July 24, 2020 (9am‐4pm)
• Friday, August 21, 2020 (9am‐4pm)
2. If you are accepted into the program, you must commit to write (with the support of the program) a minimum of two op‐ed essays. (Note: we expect all participants to make every effort to publish a minimum of two op‐eds, and hopefully many more.)

WRITE TO CHANGE THE WORLD: ONE DAY PUBLIC SESSIONS

Program Details:
• 1-day public session
• Open to the public; limited to 20 individuals
• The Provost Office will fund a limited number of Northwestern faculty to attend
• Dates and Locations (TBA):
- Saturday, May 2, 2020
- Saturday, June 13, 2020

Requirements:
• If you are accepted for funding, you will sign up for the available date of your choice.

CRITERIA FOR EITHER PROGRAM

1. You must have a full‐time active academic appointment for the 2020-2021 academic year.
2. Have not already completed a Public Voices program, either at Northwestern or elsewhere.

PLEASE NOTE!

Faculty may apply to both programs using the same application form, and will be asked to indicate their preferred program. Faculty will only be selected for participation in one program, not both.
